Out of the Elements
With it raining a vast majority of the time since the Regulators have ventured back into the Mwangi Jungle northern reaches of the Vanji River. As night was quickly approaching, darkness envelops all within the Jungle quickly, G’roynn Ironshaft was able to secure a safe location for the party to camp, allowing all to get a full night’s rest, and discovered a freshwater spring nearby as well for them to refill.
Starday, Sarenith 22nd, 4719 AR
Run Through the Jungle
Early in the morning, the Regulators set out for Akrivel. Moving swiftly through familiar jungle territory, making good progress until midday as they ran into a small Cinderclaw Hunting Party that was completely overwhelmed by the party. It’s clear enough to the Regulators that they must take some precautions given the heightened awareness of their presence to the Cinderclaws.
Another Night in the Jungle
Worn Out by the days travel and rain, even with the excellent navigation by the Ranger G’roynn Ironshaft, the Regulators were able to once again secure a safe location near a wellspring of mineral water pouring out of large stones like a waterfall nearby. The night passes without incident, but familiar uneasy noises have been heard over the last few nights.
Sunday, Sarenith 23rd, 4719 AR
Akrivel Trader
The Regulators made it to Akrivel late in the afternoon, a welcome reprieve for all, where they were able to barter with the Ekujae Trader Shaerra, offloading some of the rough cast gold bars, and purchasing some key items and upgrades.
Dinner with Ekujae Leopard Clan Leadership & Renali
The Regulators were welcomed by Jahsi, Akosa of the River Clan, and Renali (the spider lady) to be invited to a dinner in the gardens nearby. During conversations the party learned of the encroaching Cinderclaws, bolstering their forces, and of the Ekujae envoys heading out to discuss with the nearby clans of potential warfare with the Cinderclaws. Kane inquired about garnering their assistance in pressing into the jungle, though whatever curse shrouds this area of the jungle, the Dragon Pillars seem to amplify, blocking them from aiding any further than they’ve been able to up to this point. The more the pillars are destroyed, the further in that the Ekujae can travel without being blinded and falling ill. The party learns about some structure that looms deep in the jungle on the other side of the river, and are warned both the river and that part of the jungle is very dangerous, common to see crocodiles and worse.
The party improved their reputation with the Leopard Clan, and later in the evening the Ose twins, Ose Panin & Ose Atsu joined the conversation bringing kava, and convey to the Regulators how this task has been granted to them, but will do everything they can to support their fight against the Cinderclaws until the Ekujae are free from this curse. Renali, showing up in Aktrivel, asks if they would accept her to live with them at the citadel so she could learn more of their culture, and the society outside the Mwangi Expanse. Truly curious, she’s placed trust in the party and your accomplishments, and feels this would be a mutual bond.
Moonday, Sarenith 24th, 4719 AR
Administrative Duties
The Regulators return to the Citadel, and attend to the overall administration of the Citadel and work with Head Servant Kevdeyr to keep operations running while they’re away. The party start the wall and door repairs in the Vaultway, as well simultaneously repairing the Ramparts. Before heading through the Huntergate in the morning, the party provided Renali a room to call her own, and Kevdeyr enough funds for daily operations, feeding and paying the workers, and instructions on staying out of the depths beyond the Vaultway.
