Swampy Mess

As the Regulators worked their way closer to where the Orange Dragon Pillar was marked on the map, they had to work hard to progress through the jungle floor that descended into a swampy mess, making ground travel more difficult. With eleven hours remaining on their boon, they now see it ahead, and prepare themselves for battle.

The Regulators worked their way into position without being seen, it was up to Adélina Cornaro; revealing herself to draw the focus of the Orange Dragon Pillar’s wrath, missing it’s mark as she bull-rushed the pillar, heaving it upward but still stuck in the soggy swamp ground. Bru’shlee sprang into motion, up the dead tree, leaping down next to the Adélina and the pillar, using their combined leverage, Bru’shlee was able to finish the extraction, nullifying its power. The danger wasn’t over, as Biloko Warriors & Veterans howled and unleashed spears and arrows down upon the party from amongst the tree canopy. Several dropped down to engage the Regulators, but ultimately were little match for them, with only one of the four escaping in the end.

Ruin Temple of Dahak

After mending their wounds, and recovering resources, the Regulators made their way south. A near ten-hour trek through thick Jungle, made easier with the guidance of G’roynn to avoid several pitfalls, even finding fresh spring water along the way. Weary from the journey, but with little time remaining with their heroism boon, they arrive on the outskirts of where the Red Dragon Pillar is supposed to be, but see only jungle…concern sets in.

Approaching the area marked on the map, the Regulators move in slowly, scouting the surroundings for clues. Both Bru’shlee and Adélina failed to realize what the others were seeing, a hidden ruin temple directly in front of them, magically hidden within the jungle. Of the two, Bru’shlee was the first to realize and reveal the temple, whereas Adélina took a bit longer as the rest of the party moved close by quietly. It was then Adélina rushed forward, only to be teleported back into the Jungle several yards back. Unphased nor hurt, yet not understanding what just truly happened, the party knew there was foul magic at play.

Bru’shlee quickly darted through the front after being made invisible by Kane, making his way slowly up along an old ruin tower. This opened up both Kane and Adélina to direct attacks from the hidden Dragon Pillar. Kane took a direct blast of fire to the chest, while the blast meant for Adélina hit the crumbling temple walls in-between her and the pillar. The focus on them coming through what once was the front entrance to this temple provided cover for Jegan and G’roynn slipping in through a side balcony, out of detection from the Dragon Pillar.

Several additional teleportation traps were triggered as the Regulators worked their way toward the Dragon Pillar, with Bru’shlee taking a chance and barely dancing around the hidden traps as he made his way to the Red Dragon Pillar, where he quickly brought it down, cracking the dragon skull a fixed atop the totem, with two fire opals spilling out of the eye sockets onto the stone floor. About this time the party heard an ominous serpentine voice call out to them as “little pray”, and were quickly ambushed by a serpentine dragon-like creature. Catching Kane in its tale, it slowly constricted around him, with the party quickly engaging it. Bru’shlee ran up its back, gripping hold of its horns, slamming his fists down upon its skull, cracking it repeatedly in attempts to get it to release Kane. G’roynn landed several arrows in its neck, while for the Coup de grâce came from Jegan as he plunged his Rapier deep into its chest cavity, striking a near mortal wound, with a final blow directly through the same location and into the beast’s heart, dropping it dead before it could retreat into the jungle.
