The Boathouse
As the Regulators made their way over to the nearby Boathouse, they discovered several open doors, cautiously making their way into the facility that contained a store house, loading deck, along with a larger covered bay for small ships, no more than 25-feet high. Before they could investigate the area, several Scarlet Triad henchmen burst into the Boathouse, the one shouted in intimidating fashion, “Ha, more lambs for the slaughter…capture them!”, but before any action was taken, low roars and rumbles were heard throughout. Within seconds, three large beasts sprang from the dark waters, killing three of the five scarlet triad, with the other two fleeing immediately.
Now confronted with these beast known as Krooth to the locals, these ambushing monsters are very deadly. Much damage was done to the party, but the beasts were given no chance of escape, and ultimately defeated. Though, at a cost with much blood, magic, and healing being utilized to sustain the Regulators. The threat neutralized, they now turned to mending their wounds before pressing forth with little time wasted to deal with One-Eye Amnin in the center of town.
Rollis Nenderlin appeared to the party at the Boathouse, drenched by the rains of the approaching storm, he tells the Regulators the following: “One-Eyed Amnin and several Scarlet Triad are occupying the center of town, they have the town elder, Xerelilah, and others hold up in the Nine Shields Smokehouse! They have flying fire beast setting blaze to the buildings too! The townsfolk have blocked their exits, but I doubt we could actually stop them from escaping, you’ll have to act quickly!”
Center of Town
One ready, the Regulators headed south into the town, making their way to the Nine Shields Smokehouse, where several surrounding buildings were already on fire. A thunderstorm crackled and the downpour showed no signs of stopping. The Regulators noticing the fires, and seeing broken glass, torn drapes, and busted furniture litter the streets, saw no sign of One-Eyed Amnin, but the smokehouse was straight ahead. Before they could act, two Flame Drakes circled maybe thirty feet above them, scortching more buildings before flying high into the darkness out of reach, keeping watch on the heroes. The heroes attention turned to the commotion to the southwest, where five Scarlet Triad thugs turned the street corner, recognizing the Regulators as the interlopers, giving the command to kill the party. The battle was quick, and were little match for the Regulators combined might.
Nine Shields Smokehouse
Atop the taller stone building, One-Eye Amnin stood atop the Nine Shields Smokehouse looking down upon the interlopers, mocking them and begging them to face their demise up top. The battle ensued immediately, with Bru-shlee, Jegan, Calamity Graves, and Adélina Cornaro focused One-Eye Amnin, while Kane remaining invisible and Voz were supporting the party, and attacking the Flame Drakes. Midway through the battle, Vavienne rejoined the battle, coming to the aid of One-Eye Amnin, but the tide was turning quickly. Nearing her demise, she called one of the Flame Drakes to help her escape, which was successful, though she watched the party cut down One-Eye Amnin. The party finished off the other Flame Drake, ending the threat.
Bru-shlee burst open the blocked wooden gate of the smokehouse, freeing the townsfolk, including the Town Elder Xerelilah, and Envoy Hallena Shadeborn. Xerelilah thanked the heroes for the rescue and defeating One-Eye Amnin, and moved quickly into directing the townsfolk into putting out fires, and managing the displaced. During all this, the Envoy Hallena Shadeborn stepped up and introduced herself, noting that the party should join them at the Rusty Lantern down the road, where they can make sense of all this, and give a proper thanks to their heroic deeds.
