As the Sun Sets
As dusk began to set in, the party made their way down to the Yolubilis Harbor district, located on the northern inlet of the Yolubilis River overlooking the river’s mouth before expanding into the Nisroch Bay to the north. Bru-shlee, Adélina Cornaro, and Voz Lirayne stopped at The War Cage, a popular destination for adventurers and explorers to purchase rare items, repair or upgrade their gear, or even compete in sparring events for coin, fame, and glory. It was here where Kane, Jegan, and Calamity Graves met back up with them, as they had already learned of the shipping company, “Sunset Imports”, and of its proprietor, Sedranni Vashnarstill, known for their exotic imports and its business ties to House Thrune of the Old Cheliax monarch.
While browsing the goods within The War Cage, Kane noticed he and the Regulators being watched by an unassuming dockhand or rigger working the docks, before realized he was noticed, he slipped out the many openings to this establishment, making his way further southwest towards the river Yolubilis before making a right on an adjencent street. Kane and Jegan quickly followed, with Voz Lirayne rallying the rest of the Regulators to follow, though they were a full block behind by the time they were in pursuit. Kane and Jegan lost the dockhand, but ended up finding Sunset Imports, a massive warehouse and docks on the riverbank. The cobblestone streets wrapped around, with a single story showroom for Sunset Imports on the northwestern end of the two story building.
Around this time Cal, Bru-shlee, Adélina, & Voz caught up to Kane and Jegan as they slowed for caution and to investigate their surroundings. Checking the Showroom, the lights were on, but the doors locked and nobody present inside. Dockhands and other commoners were still focused on their business, sounds of the clanging from the Wainwright’s work on the northern end of the street, to the seagulls squawking all throughout, the Regulators followed the alley around the showroom to the docks and massive loading crane, where they observed opened double doors to the Sunset Imports warehouse.

The Mustachioed Man’s Offer
The players burst into the dimly lit warehouse of Sunset Imports just as the sun slowly makes its way towards the horizon, casting long shadows through the high, grimy windows. The air reeks of brine, sweat, and desperation—crates of “exotic spices” and furniture from Cheliax line the walls, creating a labyrinth of cover and elevation changes. This cunning Scarlet Triad Enforcer, stands on a raised platform in the warehouse’s northern end. He’s mid-interrogation, hand gripping the throat of a battered halfling. The dockhand stood next to the man, taking payment before exiting the situation. Several Scarlet Triad Thugs were standing at the ready on the floor around the platform.
The man froze for a moment, his beady eyes locking on Voz. “You! The witch herself and meddling swine—Vavienne mentioned Amnin’s folly at Cypress Point, this was your doing!” He snarls, fangs bared, but composes himself with a greasy smile and twirling his mustache. “I should slaughter you where you stand…though on second thought, I’ll make you all a deal, hand over the traitorous Voz—and walk away richer and intact.” As silence sets in with the Regulators pondering his intentions, Jegan stepped forth accepting this deal while walking forward to receive the payment of platinum. Voz nervously looks at Kane and says you’re not seriously considering this!
The mustachioed man smiling says boisterously to the party, “The name’s Heuberk, the Triad sees potential in adventurers like you…might you be interested in more than playing the boring hero…hmmm? Power, gold, slaves, even concubine, simple terms, what’s not to like? Honestly, why bleed for those that don’t appreciate your skill when you could rule from the shadows?”, as he tossed down the bag with 50 platinum inside.
It was in this moment where Jegan ran his blade across the throat of a Scarlet Triad Thug, essentially ending his life then and there, and calamity ensued. Heuberk decries the situation “FOOLS, KILL THEM ALL…LURB, KRAWN, YOUR SERVICES ARE REQUIRED!” as he threw the halfling down from the platform to the ground below, hitting hard and with a whimper audible to all, pain flooded his already tortured body before reaching unconsciousness.
The melee ensued and from the shadows, more Scarlet Triad Sneaks began throwing daggers, before Vivianne joined the fray, attempting to strike Bru-shlee from the shadows, but his training took over and he dodged the deadly attacks. Large noises were heard from the eastern end of the warehouse, as Lurb (Scarlet Triad Bruiser), and Krawn (Kalavakus Demon) joined the fight. The party was severely outnumbered, but utilized the crates and terrain to their advantage, though Krawn was knocking over the crates onto the Regulators, and both doing massive damage. The party expended many resources in this battle, taking out the henchmen, and doing enough damage to Heuberk and Vavienne before fleeing, with Heuberk noting they had “more important matters to attend”.
With Bru-shlee and Adélina sustaining majority of the damage from the heavy hitters, and plenty of damage for the other Regulators in this battle, the killing blow was dealt to Krawn trying to avenge the death of Lurb, Bru-shlee striking the demon with several strikes to vital organs and head before falling to its wounds. Uncertain how they managed to survive this deadly battle, Adélina rushed over to the halfling, surging healing magic of the divine into him to bring him back from the brink of death.
