Sunset Imports, Aftermath
With Lurb & Krawn defeated along with the other Scarlet Triad forces within the warehouse, the Regulators revived the male halfling, Hundy Vosht, who was bleeding out on the floor after being tossed like a ragdoll from the upper platform from the Scarlet Triad Luitenant, Heuberk. Hundy, initially startled when awaking to his saviors, panicked believing them to be more of the Scarlet Triad enforcers. After calming down, he quickly broke into tears, telling the Regulators that he was an agent for the Bellflower Network (a secret organization focused on freeing halfling slaves in and around Old Cheliax, and at times helping other good folk), going on how he had done something terrible by giving up the location to a primary safehouse in the Villerge District (just north / northwest of the Yolubilis District (Harbor District)), the Long Roads Coffeehouse ran by Laria Longroad. Fearing the Scarlet Triad will do something horrible to her and their network, Hundy pleads with the Regulators to head there without delay!
The Regulators uncover a hidden entrance to a couple slave pens that were blocked by some heavy barrels that were little work for the party to move. WIthin they disocered an additional fourteen captives, several beautiful women of which were adorned in pretty gowns, almost as if they were to be presented to potential buyers. Hundy collected himself, and requested help moving all these captives to a different location, and since the safehouse may be compromised, he mentioned he would bring them to the Lady Docur’s School for Girls, hoping that Lady Docur would provide temporary safe haven for them until they figured out what to do. Before leaving to the coffeehouse, Hundy gave the party his Bellflour Network signet ring, in case they ran into Laria Longroad, or when coming to the school so they could confirm they’re allies and granted entrance onto the school grounds.
Something amiss at the Long Roads Coffeehouse
The night’s darkness takes hold as the Regulators reach the coffehouse. Climbing up the flight of stairs from the streets below, leading to the double doors of a handsome two-and-a-half-story wood and stone building. The doors cracked open, swung awkwardly loose, one of them damaged. Broken chairs lie sprawled on the front stairs and throughout the dining hall, which are smeared with what could be food or something fouler. The smell of blood, cardamom, and coffee wafts down the stairs, along with the sound of muffled banging. Within the dining hall, the room is a mess of overturned tables, broken chairs, smashed dishes, and several corpses. The sharp smell of scorched coffee and burned bread filled the air. Slowly making their way beyond the disheveled mess, the Regulators were confronted by two apparitions that appear within the dining hall, Remnants of Barzillai (before Kintargo’s independence, the tyrannical inquisitor Barzillai Thrune held the city in his brutal grip), engaging the party with each summoning different haunting apparitions causing havoc…
