Lacunafex Alignment: Good (Spy Network) Location: Lady Docur’s School for Girls
The Lacunafex is a small network of spies and couriers that operate in secret across Cheliax, and are based out of Lady Docur’s School for Girls located in the Villegre district of free-spirited Kintargo in northern Cheliax. The school provides both a cover and a recruiting ground for the Lacunafex, as its headmistress Lady Mialari Docur is also the organization’s founder. Lady Docur runs the school, which caters almost exclusively to half-elven girls from across Cheliax, Isger, and Molthune, but secretly recruits her most talented pupils into the Lacunafex, where they are taught spycraft.

- Kane Recall Knowledge
- “Golems are hulking constructs immune to most magic thanks to their golem antimagic—they ignore spells and magical effects except a few specific types unique to each golem. Those exceptions either harm them (dealing massive untyped damage instead of the normal effect), heal them (removing Slowed and restoring HP), slow them (applying Slowed 1), or make them vulnerable to particular spells. They also share standard construct immunities: bleed, death effects, disease, doomed, drained, fatigued, healing, mental effects, nonlethal attacks, paralyzed, poison, sickened, unconscious (plus often spirit, vitality, and void).
- Most have high physical resistance (10–15, double on crit failures) except from adamantine weapons, which ignore it entirely. They often resist all spells too, except their antimagic exceptions.
- Best ways to handle them:
- Adamantine weapons are your go-to for reliable damage—bypass their physical resistance on stone, iron, clay, alchemical, and many others.
- Exploit antimagic: Match spells to the golem’s material (e.g., cold/water harms stone/clay; acid harms iron). Areas or persistent effects chip away over time.
- Identify the type (via another Recall Knowledge) for precise vulns like shatter (glass/alchemical), stone to flesh (stone/clay/fossil), or disintegrate (clay).

Dead Drop Note #1
Regulators — Birds arrived safely. Whiterock quiet on surface; farmers, ranchers, river trade as usual. Baron Canton Jhaltero at his lodge-manor northwest edge—seen repairing shutters, mending fences, working the homestead, casual as ever. Silver Council seat seems to keep him comfortable; no overt moves.
Quarry activity confirmed. Summershade Granite, old Jhaltero family site, closed ~10 yrs, active again. Night wagons covered and guarded moving up the road 1–2x weekly past month. Heavy loads inbound, lighter outbound—contraband and or slaves likely. Giant tracks spotted in the area.
Strange echoes from deep chambers—whispers, hammers, occasional unnatural roars. Gnoll overseer Laslunn here, spotted twice this week—tall, scarred, braided mane, leads patrols personally. Cruel, efficient; slaves kept in flooded lower pits when not working. Alliance evident: stone giants provide muscle; Triad provides food/water + access. They cooperate on defense, but tensions possible—giants more interested in ruins than slaves. Baron may be receiving payoffs; monthly “gifts” possibly spread to local officials / tavern owners for silence. Nothing direct—transactional, deniable. He likely knows more than will admit; uncertain of his play. Won’t fight for you, but won’t block if you move quietly.
The approach, just follow the main path up mountain shadow—exposed. Side trails (old miner paths) east flank for stealth. Sluices may be internal, no sign up top the quarry walls. Dead drop tomorrow night same spot if needed—leave blue ribbon on doorknob. Strike true. Shadows watch.
—Lacunafex

My Lord Baron,
I write to you not as headmistress, but as a woman who has spent three centuries watching this city breathe — and bleed. You know what I am. You know what I protect. And so I will dispense with pleasantries and speak plainly, as I know you prefer.
The Scarlet Triad has, for some months, moved with considerable boldness through the streets of Kintargo. Their agents embedded themselves in our commerce, our politics, and our shadows. They sought to use this city as a staging ground for ambitions I need not detail here — you have, I suspect, noticed their presence along the Yolubilis as well. Caravans delayed. Tolls misapplied. Men in red who answer to no local authority.
I am pleased to inform you that their operation in Kintargo has been dismantled. The credit belongs not to my network, nor to the city watch, but to a group of adventurers who call themselves the Regulators. They arrived in Kintargo on my invitation and proceeded to expose and dismantle the Triad’s local operations with a thoroughness that left me genuinely impressed. They are not reckless. They are not mercenary in spirit. They are, in my estimation, exactly the kind of people this region needs, and they are traveling south along the Yolubilis toward Whiterock.
I am asking you, Canton — and I choose that word deliberately — to receive them well.
See that they are housed, fed, and resupplied. If they require information about Triad movements in your territory, share what you know. If they ask for nothing, offer it regardless. The road ahead of them is long and the enemies they pursue are not finished. They will need the goodwill of people like you, and you will benefit from having extended it.
I do not make requests lightly. You know this. Consider this one repayment of a debt neither of us has openly named.
Treat them as guests of this house.
With enduring regard,
Lady Mialari DocurHeadmistress, Lady Docur’s School for GirlsVillegre District, Kintargo, Ravounel

- Heading from Whiterock to the Revousa Ditches
- The Katharevousa River meets the Yolubilis River in a region scored by deep rents in the earth, as if some titanic creature had clawed at the ground. This region is known as the Revousa Ditches. The grooves are prone to flooding and breed prodigious mosquitoes, but the site is so well traveled by riverboats that temporary shops set up on anchored, floating platforms at all times except during the rainy season.
- From there, we go to the quarry
