CULT OF CINDERS
Sunday, Sarenith 9th, 4719 AR (cont.)
The Ekujae
Nketiah called for a feast to welcome their guests, and the party were introduced to Akosa, a hunter and close friend to Jahsi, whom fresh kills were requested, with Jegan and G’roynn Ironshaft joining the hunt.
The rest of the party was given a small tour of the town in the canopy, meeting the Akrivel townsfolk. Coming upon two tall youthful women, playing in a dancing game of skill, where Dorrne Unterhund, Kapprenakiz (Kapp), and Bru-shlee were invited to join by Nketiah. After the boys won the game of skill, they were challenged by an adult couple. While Dorrne Unterhund took this chance for a break, Kapprenakiz (Kapp) and Bru-shlee played many rounds, with Bru-shlee tying his match, and Kapprenakiz (Kapp) delivering a close win! Through the laughter and fun, Nketiah’s relationship with the party improved.
All while G’roynn Ironshaft and Jegan were clutch in aiding the hunting party, securing four Red River Hogs for the feast, with G’roynn Ironshaft spotting, and Jegan sneaking around with the other hunters to box their prey in. Akosa, who was initially standoffish, his demeanor towards the party improved.
Feast for Guests
The Regulators joined in some games of skill with the Ekujae people before the feast, winning in their contests of skill and more favor with the tribe overall. After the feast and the story of the Great Darkness told by Nketiah, there was time for her to discuss in depth some issues that trouble them and the parties possibly role to play in the larger story unfolding. Gifts were bestowed upon the party members given the favor gained.
Moonday, Sarenith 10th, 4719 AR
Into the Jungle
The party ventured deep into the jungle, around 15 miles or so before darkness began to fall and the party scrambled to make camp as rain started to descend.
Raiding Cinderclaws
Deep into the rainy night as the party was seeking for adequate shelter in the Mwangi Jungle, the Regulators came upon a loud commotion and a death-curdling screech just up the way with several Cinderclaws were raiding a cabin. Quick to act, they snuck into position until just the right time where they swiftly dealt with the Cinderclaw raiding party, though one did escape into the dark jungle, and their justice. The party, after figuring out the situation, dug a shallow grave for the poor soul who was murdered, while using their cabin to sleep securely through the night.
Wealday, Sarenith 12th, 4719 AR
Mining Camp, Surveying the Area
Traveling eastward, the newly branded Regulators discovered an entrance of an active mining camp. Quickly surveying their surroundings, the party observed an active mining operation directly to the east with several Charau-ka and Boggards working the mine with 50’ walls and a muddy pond to the north with run-off from their excavation and the rain pouring down. Several Charau-ka Butchers cooking for the camp to the south, a large beast trapped in an enclosure to the north near a very large mound of dirt at least 15-20 feet high, and some domiciles on the other end of the mining pit.
Mining Camp, Pit Masters & Sickly
The Regulators quietly made their way south through the dense jungle edge of the clearing, ambushing the Charau-ka Butchers that were preparing the meats on the large iron grill. These were no ordinary Charau-ka that the the party faced prior, doing more damage with their tridents and cleavers, while taking a beating from the party as well.
After mending wounds, they made their way further southeast where a half dozen filthy reed mats, encrusted with slime and sweat, line the ground outside of a slumped wooden building. Walking closer, the party was met by six Boggard Swampseers. Though, they were little match for the party.
