2-Minute Pre-Session Setup

  • Confirm spell list in Pathbuilder matches latest sheet.
  • Mark rank 6 plan: Calamity = multi-target swing, Truesight = anti-trick tool.
  • Set default opener for tonight’s expected fight type.
  • Pick one defensive fallback (position + escape line) before session starts.

Default Openers

Unknown Encounter

  • Round 1: gather info + conservative control (don’t blow rank 6 unless perfect).
  • Goal: identify weak save and threat hierarchy.

Boss / Elite Focus

  • Round 1: Synesthesia on primary threat if viable.
  • Round 2: maintain pressure, reposition safely, enable party focus fire.

Multiple Enemies

  • Round 1–2: look for Phantasmal Calamity hitting 2+ priority targets.
  • If spread out: control highest-impact target first, delay Calamity.

Slot & Resource Discipline

  • Rank 6 is for tempo swing, not cleanup.
  • Don’t spend top slots into already-won fights.
  • If fight difficulty spikes early, spend decisively—don’t hoard.

Positioning Rules

  • Start where you can affect multiple enemies without front-lining.
  • Preserve at least one move/reposition option each round.
  • If threatened, protect action economy first, damage second.

Team Sync Cues (say out loud)

  • “I’m targeting Will on X.”
  • “Setting up control—focus X after this.”
  • “Holding rank 6 for better cluster / next spike.”

  • What spell created the biggest action swing?
  • What sat dead in hand again?
  • What single tweak improves next session?
