P2E_Buddy — How It Works (Player Version)
What is it?
P2E_Buddy is our private Pathfinder helper in Discord.
Ask it questions by mentioning it in-channel.

What does it read?
It uses our shared campaign notes in Obsidian:
- timeline
- denizens
- session recaps
- party/character docs
- NPC files
- rules quickrefs
How does it decide what matters?
For NPCs and threats, it prioritizes:
- most recent in-game events (not IRL dates)
- direct interaction (fight/interrogation > rumor)
- unresolved threads (escaped/alive > dead/closed)
Rules handling
It prefers remastered books first:
- Player Core / Player Core 2 / GM Core / Monster Core
- APG is secondary when not superseded
Safety / scope
- Private to our PF setup
- Mention-triggered in channel
- Only allowlisted users can DM or trigger it
- It won’t post on its own
Daily upkeep (automatic)
A daily background refresh updates:
- timeline + denizens exports
- 01_CATCHUP.md + 00_RECAP.md
- rules quick index
- NPC intake review inbox
What if it’s unsure?
It should say so and give best options, not invent answers. If needed, we use a quick table ruling and verify after combat.
